How do you get sales for your business

I see this question a lot, I have asked this question many times myself. How do I get more sales to my business?

This question is a math question and a where question. Let's first tackle the math of generating the sales.

Volume of traffic. You need enough visits to your website to become a sale. The more targeted the traffic, the less amount of traffic you need, which means you have a higher conversion rate. 

Here's how this works, you need to focus on traffic, the more traffic the more sales. Then you focus on converting those sales, one of the best ways to do that is retargeting, lead capture (pop up forms) and email marketing. 

If you're just focused on traffic hypothetically, you get 1000 hits to your website. You'll get between 5-15 sales realistically. Not a lot. But if you setup a compelling lead magnet, pop up form, something just to get their email or phone number. You'll collect between 2-12% of the traffic, pretty okay pop ups will get 7%. That's 70 people.. Then you do email marketing, text message marketing. You already have 5-15 sales, but with email marketing you'll add an extra 34% of sales per month. That's another 2-6 sales. 

kk, hard numbers. 10 sales for 1000 visits which is 1% conversion rate. With email marketing that's another 3 sales. 13 sales out of that 1000 hits. Get another 1000 hits next month and another 13 sales. Now get your repeat rate to 25%. That means 3 repeat orders so month two is 16 sales. repeat again next month but now 25% of 16 sales is 4 repeat orders so 20 orders this time. Keep it up and it slowly compounds. 

Side note, this is why scaling is a slow and steady wins the race game. It sometimes is fast but most of the time it's analyzed in 30-90 day increments.
